A Cooperative Puzzle Game for 2 Players

The Nexus Motel sits at the junction of this earthly life and the next. Part purgatory, part tourist trap, it is a wayside inn on the road to the great beyond. And for reasons unknown, it is rapidly fading from existence...taking everything inside with it!

The motel is vacant with the exception of 5 rooms. Trapped in these rooms are ‘guests’ — spirits, held hostage in between worlds — who need your help to escape before the motel disappears completely. To check out, each guest must revisit their past through various everyday objects, with the right combinations unlocking the memories that keep them bound to their rooms.

You and another player will take turns searching the motel, trying to find the the spiritual energy you need to trigger these memories. Collecting objects and carefully arranging them into groups — or ‘nexuses’ — will free the trapped guests and allow them to pass into the next world.

If you can check all 5 guests out of their rooms, both players have won! However, if you can’t collect the needed energy in time, both players lose and any guests still inside the motel will dissolve forever into nothingness.

If you've never set up a print and play game before, it's very simple! The components document is 12 pages long and designed to be printed on standard 8.5x11 inch paper or card stock, double sided if you wish (all the cards have both a front and back that are used in gameplay). Once the card sheets are printed, just use scissors or a paper cutter to cut them all out individually. For this game, you should have 54 total when you're done.

(Note: Depending on your printer's settings, you may need to select a "borderless" printing or paper option so that the card sheets aren't cut off.)

Alternatively, what some people like to do is print out the front and back sheets separately, then use clear card sleeves to sandwich them on either side of a standard playing card or Magic: the Gathering card. This tends to make them easier to shuffle and gives them a bit more weight.

You don't need anything else to play, only the 54 cards! Just leave a comment if you notice any component mistakes or have any trouble getting the game ready to play. I'm happy to help. :)
